My plymouth rock has the same and I think it is her scratching because she has lice, which I am going to treat tomorrow...wish me luck. I also have bad mite infestation on the coop floor because of residual water from cleaning the coop.

We are building a giant coop and it is time to buy the netting. Some people advised me to use the hardware cloth which is 2.5x more expensive than chicken wire. We are trying to keep the expense to a minimum and the roof will cost a lot too.
Any suggestions?

We just bought two Bantam Cochins which are now 10 days old, and are getting the starter medicated feed. They are super active and very healthy. We have them in a box for the moment, while we build a coop.
