    I noticed it after he was added. He’s good to them. Doesn’t tear their feathers out like our last rooster did. No they are not free range but I do let hem out in the grass once a week or so

    We added an orphaned rooster to our 18 hens in June and our egg production went from 12-14 a day to 2-3. I know some are molting but we have never had such low production. Any comments?

    I was getting 10-12 eggs a day. Now 4-5. The are out in the yard in the afternoons for a bit. Don’t see many feathers lying around yet so didn’t think about molting. Thanks.     They are a year to year and a half. The older ones have molted. Younger ones I have not seen signs of molting. Thanks
