    Mine are up on wire, so they can't eat it. I have the feeders in half boxes now and it stays where they have to eat it.

    I have 30 quail. I split them into two cages of 15 each. they are just 8 weeks old. I was using the red flip top chick feeder and it worked OK...they still threw the feed out. Then I got what is pictured. they threw out half the feed in minutes.... and these were sold to me as quail...

    what should I expect?

    Oh Wow.... really 30-50 percent. that sort of surprises me. but I feel better. It is so funny that these are hatching over 3 days. 5 have hatched today and there are a couple more pipped. this would be day 19.

    I sat 96 Cortinex quail on Monday and have had pretty settled temps. Tonight I went to a play in the school, I was gone about 2 1/2 hours. when I came back the temp was 101.8 . The temp in the house itself really went up, so that was causing it. I opened the incubator and cooled them to 99...
