    Hens not laying in their nest boxes

    It worked well for us to make the laying boxes dark and private. We put burlap curtains on the front. Golf balls worked well as our fake eggs; they couldn't push them out of the nest easily. Good luck! Lynn

    Thanks for the encouragement and suggestions. I would never have thought of the melon idea, though I was going to juice up their water with something so they'd fill up.
