Hello!!! I am new to rabbits and need some help from an experienced rabbit lover!!
I rescued 3 rabbits (I think they are lionhead but I really have not clue!) they are TINY!!! Two fit in the palm of my hand maybe 5 inches long at most! The other is a little bigger maybe 8 inches. The feed...
I think your right that Jasmine is a boy
I am going to hope my little Bean is a girl.
Boys can't stay and we all know what that means for my very first born.
Only time will tell - I will keep you posted!!!!
Ok, boy or girl?
Bean - born Jan 7 - My frizzle!!!!! Are those feathers not the CUTEST thing EVER?!?!?!?
Jasmine - Born Jan 2
Jelly Born Jan 7 - Camera shy!
an update on the worlds longest hatch at my house.
First - Jelly is a frizzle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPEE
Second - I STILL have 1 egg left to hatch!! Today is the 21st and I know for 150000% that egg was set LONG before Jan 1st!!! I moved Mama into her condo on Dec 23rd with...
I did read your story ~ It made me go out and check the baby one more time. I was hoping to do some cpr to baby 4 but no luck - she is cold too. Still totally movable not stiff. Strange.
I am just going to move them out during the hatch itself I think. Since I don't have any way to keep...
Ok, mama is still sitting on them - not as much as before but she was on lock down tonight as soon as I moved baby#4. I will keep my eyes open for the first signs and then move them to the brooder to complete the hatch. Can I put them back with mama after that while she is asleep?
Yes, they were set on Dec 10th - super late but I couldn't bring myself to get rid of them. It was close but I candled them and could see the babies moving. I still have 2 more that are moving inside the eggs - I am moving them out ASAP but I don't have an incubator sooo I am trying to figure...
It is very strange. It all happened in just a matter of two minutes. Mama looked like she was helping the baby - gently - then the other babies came over and started pecking. The baby is in perfect condition, no peck holes on her body but it does look like her little umbilical cord may have...
Well baby #4 hatched today she started at 6:30am and made her final appearance at 2:51pm. Unfortunately the other babies did not like her and I was not home to supervise the hatch. Baby #4 RIP. Some days the chicken cam is good - other days it just tells the very sad truth.
So I am pretty sure that I am the only person who is STILL hatching from our New Years Day hatch.
Live Baby count is still at 3 , 1 that I am sure was rotten and now thrown away, 2 I am sure are clear and 3 more babies MOVING in their little shells. Oh why oh why won't they hatch...
These two little ones are so cute! The have fuzz all the way down over their toes!! I have my fingers crossed that at lease one is a frizzle!!!!
I still have 5 more eggs (1 is in the trash from my 6 - it smelled funny today so I decided it was better to toss it than risk any other babies.)...
I went out to remove the eggs from under Mama this morning and to my surprise ~ TWO (not one!) Babies!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll post pictures later since Mama wanted to chase me out of the room when I was peaking. I think they just hatched a few minutes ago - time to check the Chicken cam!!
They were set under Mama on Dec 10th - although I only set 8 when I started and there is 1 that snuck in while she was still in the main hen house.
Baby Jasmine hatched on Jan 2nd at 8:27am Mama won't leave the eggs for very long - only to walk the baby to the food and water then straight...
