Lost 3 birds, all different symptoms. Marek's?

I lost a silver sebright at the end of January, his only visual symptom was feather on his chest and scabbing, he continued acting fine up until he passed one night. The next bird was a bantam EE, she had no visual signs or symptoms of anything being wrong. She passed in either Feb or March, I...

Possible bumblefoot, infection, or frostbite injury? Pics

I have an old lady who just started hobbling around. Checked her feet this morning and on the top of one foot she has a hard round bump, no black scab. On the other foot she has a toe that seems crooked and is swollen up by the nail. My first thought on the toe was that she may have gotten...

2 Dead ducks - thoughts on Newcastle

I know we have rats in our barn too, we have never used poison. The neighbors across the road and next to us also have these rats, not sure if either of them are using it. I wonder if it's possible the rats carried it to our barn somehow? It''s all very curious and I have just been wanting...

I have had several of these and they are definitely one of my favorites! I have had 1 aggressive rooster but the rest have been pretty docile.

2 Dead ducks - thoughts on Newcastle

I have had two ducks die so far this winter, about 2 weeks apart. One died suddenly with no symptoms, thought maybe it was the cold that did her in. The second duck became very suddenly ill. Her underside was covered in a pasty mint green waste. She was shaking her head and spewing a green...

They are a lot smaller than standard size ducks but definitely not pigeon size. I'm okay with that, these are just pets!

    Call ducks personality

Thank you. I have done a lot of research on them and do not live in a neighborhood. I already have 25 birds between chickens and ducks, including roosters. The calls we are getting are not the size of pigeons... I have never seen a full grown call that size. My daughter has already handled day...

Yes I have and my daughter has been with days old chicks several times before, supervised. She is extremely gentle, I'm not worried about anything happening to them. What special care are you talking about? As ducklings or adults?

I have bantam and standard easter eggers. They are the friendliest birds I have. Wonderful layers, broody, cold hardy, and very friendly. I will always have these in my flock!

Wonderful little birds to add a unique look to your flock. Mine are a bit skittish and only come close when I have food but I love having them.

These are very winter hardy, friendly, good egg laying birds. My rooster is a little testy with me and he has gone after my daughter, has not hurt her, but scares her a bit. Overall fantastic birds, one of my favorites. They were also gorgeous juveniles!

    Call ducks personality

I already have several ducks and chickens. I am adding 2-3 call ducks in a month or so. I am getting them for my toddler daughter and hoping they will bond with her and turn out to be "pets"allowing her to hold them or follow her around. Anyone know how friendly they typically are or if I am...
