    Growth in mouth

I was wondering if it was age related. It is soft, but firm and just feels like tissue. I forget to mention she has a crack in her beak so maybe an injury from flying into the aviary wall

    Growth in mouth

I noticed my older quail has a growth in her mouth. She is currently separated. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Quail eggs

They claimed part of the shell comes off naturally when they remove the poop. Not sure how that makes and obvious circular cleaning motion....I also wonder how clean their farm is....

I know. Thanks. I did not clean these. Someone else did!

    Quail eggs

Thanks. That is what I thought. The hatch rate was so bad on these.

    Quail eggs

I have ordered mail order eggs 3 times. This last time, the person had scrubbed the eggs clean. Did they "dry clean" these too much? Thanks.

    Quail incubation

Thank you. I would prefer that actually. I put them in right when I got them and they hatched Monday night. I would prefer a Tuesday night hatch as Wednesday is my day off.

    Quail incubation

I have quail eggs arriving Thursday. Last time, the seller said to put them right in the incubator and not turn for 24 hours (fat end up). For chicken eggs, I have them sit at room temp for at least 24 hours prior to putting in the incubator. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Quail aviary floor

Thanks. Also the quail poop is much dryer than chicken's so it would be easier to have a dirt forest floor.

    Quail aviary floor

Thank you so much. I felt dirt was a better option too and that wire can be harsh. How do you clean your dirt floor? Thanks.

    Quail aviary floor

We will be starting our build soon for the corturnix quail habitat. I was reading that a wire bottom is easier to clean. However, I had wanted to plant large ornamental grasses, clumping bamboo, etc for hiding purposes which would be difficult on wire (unless the grass grew up through the wire...

    Guin-hen egg

I left it in for 28 days or so to be on the safe side. It did not developed much after handling.
