    When can I expect my pullets to start laying?

    My Easter egger and sapphire gem started at 18 weeks. My barred rock around 19-20 weeks. Still waiting on my BO and lavender Orpington who are 20 weeks.

    BTW I did show them a you tube video on my iPhone of a hen and chick dust bathing. They were mesmerized! And they used the bath properly so maybe it helped and maybe they just figured out on their own.

    I live in southern California and paid $20 per chick for my Americanas/EE. Does this mean I’m not getting blue eggs? For reference I also paid $20 for my lavender, sapphire gems and $15 for buff orps.

    She’s my favorite and I’m hoping she’s just coughing something stuck in her throat. Or maybe pullets do this? I don’t know anything about chickens. Thanks for the help!

    My chicks are similar. They really need a mom to show them how to “be a chicken” I’m considering putting an iPad in the brooder to show a video of a chicken dust bathing. We’ll see if it works. LOL
