Bumblefoot for the first time- help!

Well it’s been 3 days now of soaking in Epsom salt, applying microcyn ah and prid then wrapping her feet. I think she’s used to the process now lol. She is still limping but more active as she’s jumping up to roost in the run and still digging for bugs. She struggles to get up on the first roost...

    Chicken laying cracked egg?!

They have been laying for about 10 months. I did add in oyster shells to their feed today. The weird thing is- when I went to check the eggs tonight there were 6 and all normal. So that means she also laid a normal egg sometime between 5am and 8pm. Doesn’t that sound odd?

    Chicken laying cracked egg?!

They eat pellets with scratch grains mixed in and mealworms as treats. I don’t usually feed them raw eggs but if one cracks they’ll get it! Because of the soft egg I added in oyster shells in their feed.

    Chicken laying cracked egg?!

My second post in less than 24 hours with chicken worries- is this normal? 😂 Yesterday around 5pm I was letting my girls out to free range for a little. I noticed they all went crazy over something. One was running around with a half of an egg shell. There was egg whites as the girls were...

Thank you so much! I do have a camera inside the coop as well and all of them jump to the lowest one then to the highest. She is still limping but not as severe- we put her back in the coop yesterday and monitored her closely and she did jump on the smallest roost with a little trouble but no...

Bumblefoot for the first time- help!

She is laying down a lot today so it makes me feel better this isn’t an uncommon behavior! I will give her a few extra treats when I get home today :) inside the coop we have 2 roosting bars and they always jump on the lower one to get to the higher one. I’m thinking they may be too far apart...

Bumblefoot for the first time- help!

Thanks so much! I’ll definitely be getting some prid today! I was also nervous when trying to extract with tweezers because I wasn’t sure if I was picking at infection or her flesh… she tolerated it pretty well but I was worried about making it worse. Did you separate yours when going through...

Bumblefoot for the first time- help!

I’m dealing with bumblefoot for the first time. I have a total of 6 chickens and 2 of them have it. 1 year and 1 month- both golden comets. I noticed a significant limp in one girl so checked her feet. I noticed the black scab associated with bumblefoot on the foot she was NOT limping on. I...
