    You didn't say how quickly the birds died after hatching. If it were less than 2 days I would suspect that they were just weak. On or after the 3rd day I would think they'd run out of yolk energy and hadn't eaten. It's sad and frustrating, I know. I once had Bob Whites die on the 3rd day...

    I'm guessing from the photos that those are Coturnix quail? Not all quail are created equal. North American quail take 28 days to hatch whereas Coturnix (Japanese quail) take as little as 15 days to hatch? Correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks for the reply. They do seem to be aggressive to other chicks and peck only at them or the walls or legs of the brooder heater! I've seen them pick up bits of crumble only to shake it off like it's Nasty! Otherwise all they do is sleep. I figure I've got less than 2 days to get them...
