Hi. I have 2 Isa Browns about 2 years old. They both have very messy bottoms and it seems they have gone of their food. They are not pooing much either. They free range all day in the yard and seem to move around okay and their crop is nice and red. Any suggestions.
I give them crushed egg shells. My concern with the floating eggs was I wouldn't expect 2 day old to float so when it did I did all the new eggs and found that they all floated so are they still okay to eat? I will try oyster shells.
Hi, My 2 Isa Browns have been laying and some of the eggs only a few days old float. Any ideas. I always do the egg test and discard any old ones that float but lately they all float. Also I get smashed eggs in the nesting box even though they free range all day and eat a good quantity laying mix.
Thanks everyone. I'm going to blend and mash everything to see how we go. How much would 2 chicks eat in a day? These 2 just seems very fussy. My other 2 chicks ,one I had for 8 years ate anything. They seem happy enough and full of life but just feel skinny when I pick them up.
So I pick them up and I can feel the breast bone. Polly is 5mths and Penny about 4mths. they run around quite happy and poo looks normal and they are drinking. It's just they don't seem to want their chick feed and anything I tempt them with other than cheese. What can I do.
Hi my 2 Isa Browns free range from dawn to dusk in the back yard. They have laying mix, which they seem to just pick out sun flower seeds and leave the rest. They don't seem interested in anything else I try them with. They like cheese. I'm worried they are not eating enough. Polly is laying...
Hi took her to the Vet this morning. He's my local vet and has treated my other girls in the past. He confirmed it was coccidiosis and she may have had it a while and what we see in the pool was the lining of her stomach. She is in a restful place now. Have antibiotics for my other chick Polly...
My girl is 12 weeks. Had her from 1 day old. Today I notice she's a bit lifeless and has done three runny poo's. Is she okay. Not sure as other chick is very active.
