Is it worms, coccidiosis, stress, or something else?

Thank you so much for your reply. I am in southern California, so lots of summer heat and predators. I'd love to let them free range but we've had too many coyotes and bobcats in the area that I'm too afraid to risk it. I can enlarge their space a bit by adding an addition to their run, but I...

Is it worms, coccidiosis, stress, or something else?

Hello everyone. I would love to get some opinions on what is going on with my small flock. They haven't been acting quite normal lately and I'm trying to figure out how to achieve chicken harmony. Backstory, lots of detail and far too many variables to diagnose certainly: TLDR: Flock seems...

Rooster with Vent Gleet or Prolapse? Please help!

Perhaps I should separate their treats from their food, so it's a special occasion. I've been sprinkling them on top of their food so they probably just expect the combo now. I would love to let them forage throughout the whole yard, but I'm just too scared. We have a lot of coyotes and bobcats...

Rooster with Vent Gleet or Prolapse? Please help!

I would say they are in the coop for half of daylight. They come out and forage in their run for a few hours around 9am, then again for a few hours around 3pm. They do have a dustbathing area both in the coop and out, but perhaps I need to make the indoor one more enticing because they primarily...

Thank you! I'll have to make some coop changes it seems.

Rooster with Vent Gleet or Prolapse? Please help!

Thank you so much, I will do that. Is about three tablespoons of a seed and meal worm mix too much for 8 chickens each day? I usually sprinkle it on top of their crumble, but if that's too much I'll cut back. Do you think this looks like vent gleet? Or perhaps something milder?

Rooster with Vent Gleet or Prolapse? Please help!

I haven't noticed anyone picking on him, but perhaps I just haven't seen it. He's the dominant one, and the only rooster, with 7 hens. The 8 of them are in a 5x9 coop with a 5x3 lofted area. They have an attached run that's roughly 200 sq ft, but they only have access to twice a day (a couple...

Rooster with Vent Gleet or Prolapse? Please help!

This is my boy, July. About a week ago we noticed his vent area was looking bare. We started adding apple cider vinegar and hydro hen to his water immediately. For the next few days he looked about the same, no worse, but no better, so we started spraying the area with vetericyn for poultry. He...

Black spots on combs and wattles?

Hello! I'm hoping that someone could ease my mind a bit. A few of my chickens have little black spots on their combs and some on their wattles. After reading a bit online and in the forums I understand this is likely either caused by small injuries from pecking each other, or it is possibly fowl...

10 week chicken possible respiratory issue

Thank you so much! I didn't know the gallery method was possible. I hope I have attached this correctly. This isn't the best quality video, but it's the longest one I could get of her making the noise. It's the quiet and low clucking sound amongst the louder higher pitched chickens.

10 week chicken possible respiratory issue

Hello everyone, I have a 10 week old chicken that I am starting to suspect has some respiratory issues. She is eating and drinking normally, is alert, interested in being held, but has a much different voice than my other chickens. She does seem more slender than the others, too. I can't seem...
