    Hello from VA! Glad to share pics and stories of my Golden Girls.

    My girls are Buff Orpingtons and I named them Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia. The fellas are Big Papa and Scaredy Cat. Lily is our dog who would really like to just eat them herself, but at least protects them from racoons and such.

    Pecked hen with bare back: UPDATE on making a duct tape saddle

    I have 4 girls and 2 surprise roosters. I don't know who the bully is but I suspect the alpha male, Big Papa. This is our first year with chickens and I thought maybe this was just normal behavior but every one of my girls are pecked raw. Should I remove the roosters? I've already found a home...
