Sorry that was confusing on my part.
I had a grey call drake from Metzer that unexpectedly passed yesterday (hawk) and I’m thinking of trying to incubate and hatch some eggs from my ladies if they’re fertile, in his honor.
I have a khaki Campbell hen and a magpie hen, both from Metzer. Wasn’t...
Okay I set them up in half of the duck house. I added a wall of hardware cloth and some hemp bedding I had on hand (they keep eating it 😬). I also added some scrap wood for a solid surface to put the heating pad on and covered that with a plastic tub with a hole cut in it (and weighed that down...
That’s what I’m worried about. I have a heating plate but that won’t fit them for much longer. I also have a heat lamp but I get very stressed about it catching the duck house on fire. Either way, I would need to put an extension cord out there
I took them to my toddlers school today and they were a hit! Ducks loved it, kids loved it, teachers loved it! So fun!
I live in northern Delaware so the forecast these days is rather erratic. Lows range from high 40s to low 60s (F).
Hiiiii again! I ended up getting more ducklings 😅 they’re medium sized breeds and I’m trying to figure out what temps are acceptable for outdoor brooding (I’m planning to divide half of duck house, as you suggested). They’re 2 weeks old but I don’t feel they’ve outgrown their indoor brooder...
Hi!

So I made a lil deck for them by the pool and got some pond pebbles for the middle section. The last section (closest to the house) will just be grass/dirt I think. Thoughts?
