Yes, it is a little less swollen on top but I am seeing progress and I agree it is slow. We are going to be at this probably for another month. I think the sugardine is helping and I will continue to use it until it's healed.
Update. Left her foot wrapped for a few days. Unwrapped it today to find a bit of puss connected to the scab on the top of her foot where the blister was. I didn't take a before photo but this is what it looks like after. It didn't bleed when the scab and puss came out, there was just a big...
Update. I feel like her foot is healing pretty well. I have been soaking it in Epsom salt and applying Sugardine to it then wrapping every other day. It's going to take a while to heal completely.
Its about 4 feet wide. And 6 ft tall the high point. I got the new nesting boxes in and put a few roosting bars in. This is what it looks like. We will see how it goes.
I'm planning on putting the nesting boxes on the right side of the coop sitting pretty close to the floor. I don't plan to put a poop board in. I'm wondering what a good layout for the roosting bars would be or should I just put them at random wherever they will fit. I have seen alot of layouts...
I thought I attached them but I guess they didn't load. The new nesting box is a square about 25x25inches with 4 nesting boxes in it. I don't have a photo of the old nesting boxes.
Hi this is our coop. We have 20 chickens. 12 are living in this big coop right now and the others I'm going to move in there the next week or so. I am building new nesting boxes. (I just tore out the other ones because no one ever used them so we are trying a new design. But I need suggestions...
Okay. I'll look at it tomorrow. The bottom of her foot looked pretty good yesterday just the top blister I'm not too sure about. I'm sure the Sugardine is helping either way.
I put sugardine on my hens foot today and bandaged it up. Do I need to do that everyday until it's healed or can I leave it wrapped up for a day or two before changing?
Gotcha. I'll keep working on it. Is it okay to soak the foot in Epsom salt now that I have lanced the blister on top? (That was yesterday.) Is this the correct Betadine? Betadine Antiseptic First Aid Solution, Povidone-iodine 10%, Infection Protection, Kills Germs In Minor Cuts Scrapes And...
Okay. Yeah I lanced the blister yesterday and couldn't get anything but blood out. I pulled on the black yesterday and it started to bleed pretty good. So the black is the infection?
Photos of her foot this afternoon. I opened up the blister on top but all that came out was blood. I also picked alittle harder at the black scab on the bottom of her foot and it started to bleed so maybe that is just a scab and no puss is under it.? I'm not sure.
Thank you for sharing. These are photos of her foot yesterday. I felt like it was healing because the black is getting smaller but now after reading your comment I don't think it is. :(
I'll look at Walmart for that then. Maybe I should lance the blister than. It is getting bigger. Do I soak it in Epsom salt after lancing? What would I put on the blister after it is lanced? Her foot is wrapped and I just put her back with her flock. I will check it this afternoon.
