We are still here and still enjoying reading the forum, especially when we need good advice! Here is a photo of dust bath time for our two Brahma hens and the Wynodotte hen, with our Leghorn, Molly, watching.
We found this egg tonight, and while it is somewhat covered in bedding materials (pine chips), we are wondering if this rather rubbery mess is a shellless egg or a lash egg. We suspect it came from our five-year-old Wynodote hen.

I came to ask the very same thing! I live in Northern CA, and it's been cold and foggy most days, so my only guess is reduced light. Mine are also chicks from last summer.

Thank you for all your advice, I'm going to work on this today. About the nails; every time I try to trim the nails I aim to just take the tip, but my birds bleed anyway. I think I need to work on my technique.
I'm almost certain this is bumblefoot, and I'm embarrassed to admit that despite the fact my well-loved chicken has been limping for the last few weeks, I neglected to look at her feet, but continued to look for leg injuries instead. The last few days have been hot here in Northern California...
