My RIR, Olive laid her first egg last Thursday. It was soft shelled so we got rid of it. We change their food to layer feed and gave them some oyster shells in another dish to eat as they please. We were very excited to find another egg Sunday- a real egg!! It was small, but indeed a real nice...

We switched Lucy and Olive to layer feed on Saturday along with some oyster shells. Look what I found about 20 minutes ago!!! Super exciting!!!

I don't plan on ever hatching eggs (no roosters allowed in the city). So should I get a different layer feed??

When we got them, we were told they were 7-8 weeks old.. so at this point they would be 11 or 12 weeks...but they seemed so much older and bigger when we got them.

The pictures i posted above were from when we first got them(4 weeks ago). They have gotten bigger and now have waddles. Here's a picture of Lucy taken yesterday...
