    Congrats! I’m interested in hearing what you think of the cozy coop for a brooder heater! Mine just arrived for my small coop (only 3 hens) for the winter. But would be handy to use it in a brooder if it work well! Enjoy the chicks!!

    So very much agree!!! We have 3 buff Orpingtons in our small city back yard and they are great! The kiddos will hold them in their laps and even swing with them in their arms! Almost 6 months old and have been laying eggs for us about 4-5 weeks. Great hens!

    What breeds should I get?

    I have just 3 buff orpingtons. They have been great! Super friendly with kids/families, easy to “train” and started laying at only 4.5 months old! I live in the Midwest and have cold winters and HOT summers. The hens have done great this summer. I obviously make sure there’s plenty of water...

    FIRST EGG!!!

    We were clearly overjoyed when our 4 1/2 mo old buff Orpington, Louise, laid her first egg!! I’m a first timer and this is so very exciting!!!! Which I could upload the video of my son (almost 4) discovering it with me 😀
