    Foundation for Coop

I want to build a small raised garden bed and then place my prefab coop on the top of it to keep it off the ground. I am using concrete garden blocks for the corners and to hold the wood into the rectangle shape. The coop is 84 by 33…. My question is, how do I measure the wood and allow the...

    New run

Just moved my chickens to a bigger yard. I am going to buy a chicken run for them and put the coop inside. I’m worried about keeping other animals out (chipmunks). What’s a good way to secure the run, some type of flooring or wire under the run? I was thinking sheet vinyl so the chipmunks can’t...

    New chicken to flock trouble

    Sick chicken???

Full size hen, a Wyandotte, and now she has some diarrhea. Her comb is flopping, but she is eating and drinking, and is active. One of my chickens laid a soft egg last week, but I am not sure if it was her. I did put some antibiotics in the water this morning.:/ Thanks for your help.

She is also making strange noises, like donkey sounds. Could she be sick? I feed them late a food and they free range in the yard, I...

Video- any hope for chicks leg/foot?

I've had this happen before. I use a roll of self Stick bandage, cut a small strip and wrap it so that the legs stay closer together. It has worked several times! Just be sure your baby is getting enough food and water.

    New to BYC

Hi, I'm Lisa, from GA. I have 3 chickens that I've raised from chicks which were hatched in my classroom. They are all so unique. Love this website! Is it true that eggs can be left unrefrigerated until washed?? How long can they stay out?? What is the best way to wash them? I'm sure I'll...
