    Abnormal legs?

No, it was a fox... Saw it today near the coop. Will keep the chickens confined for some time.

    Abnormal legs?

Now last evening he just disappeared! I was in the house for about 5 minutes, and when I came back he was gone. No feathers, anything... The female is calling him back.

    Abnormal legs?

Thanks, yes I have tried to look for scale abnormalities – haven't seen any really. Then again, hard to have a close look with guineas... But he behaves normally so I guess he's OK. He hatched last summer.

    Abnormal legs?

I bought this male guinea a few days ago, but are these legs normal? Should I be concerned? Could it be knemidokoptes (leg mites)? He is walking normally but has not roosted on all nights.

Guinea fowl walking head close to body

Hi again, We tried to give her vitamin D, but she doesn't drink. I haven't seen her eat either. She opens her beak when breathing and makes a weird weak noise doing that. Any ideas? e: just went to check her - she was dead. :(

    Which chick is a marans?

Hello, Thanks! The landrace can come in almost any colours (legs, feathers etc). It has some similarities with the Icelandic landrace chickens (I'm from Estonia). They can also have feathered legs sometimes. Another view of the two Marans hens we have: So is the brown chick most likely...

    Which chick is a marans?

This is the third chick, but I thought she's landrace as she has blueish legs: One of the chicks is surely from those parents (chick hatched from a dark brown marans egg). One of them should be landrace and one of them is Marans roo x brown leghorn (unlikely) / also the landrace / Marans roo x...

    Which chick is a marans?

Hello, Thank you for your replies. No, I'm not sure they are BCM, but we were told that they are BCM when we bought them... However, I'm sure they are the parents of one of those chicks (of the brown chick apparently). We are going to keep the black one then, as he should be from a landrace that...

    Which chick is a marans?

Hello, Both chicks are about 6 weeks old. At first I thought the black one should be a marans but he doesn't have feathered legs. The father: The mother: Brown chick: Black chick: They are fighting all the time so we have to sell one of them. Thank you

Guinea fowl walking head close to body

We do have oyster shells available for them. Last summer we had two other guinea hens and we didn't have any shells, but both were in good health. She's a broiler type guinea fowl and she's quite fat.

Guinea fowl walking head close to body

Hello, Unfortunately she has gotten much worse. She almost doesn't walk anymore. Any ideas what it could be? We had another guinea fowl die a few weeks ago, but she didn't have the same symptoms. It looked as if she had a swollen vent, but the vet said that she wasn't egg bound. Maybe it's a...

Guinea fowl walking head close to body

Hello, Thank you for your replies. I live in northern Europe (Estonia) and indeed we have had some rainy and rather chilly days lately. Right now I can´t take any pictures as I am in town, but I will probably tomorrow or after tomorrow if the situation should remain the same. They have been...
