    Keeping the Pond Clean

Hi! What did you end up doing for your ducks? We're using a kiddie pool, but it is a mess. Daily dumping is rough. I thought about putting a spigot in the side to help drain it. Anyways, would love to see some pictures!

    A dirty duck butt?

That poo was from earlier this afternoon and its since become quite watery. I'll try to get some better photos in the morning. I gave him a teeny bit of olive oil in some water and no food in their coop tonight.

    A dirty duck butt?

I also was observing them both. He's passing very watery stool with little bits and hers appears mostly normal. It's been raining a lot here and they're foraging in our very wet lawn.

    A dirty duck butt?

I also noticed that his voice is a little quieter and he's pulling out some feathers when he grooms. I'm new...

    Are my ducks warm enough?

This is a super helpful thread! We're in NE, and the days are nice but tonight's dropping down into the mid-40's (F) with a cold-ish North wind. We have two Appleyards (male is 8 weeks and female is 6 weeks old) and it's their first night in their own house. It feels like I just dropped my kid...

    Ducks!

Thank you! I was pleasantly surprised when I tried duck eggs the first time. I'm not a fan of chicken eggs. We're pretty happy to have these two...but wow, they're a distraction. Hard to get anything done...I'd rather sit and just watch them!

    Ducks!

Hi all, We're raising two silver appleyards. My daughter wants to show them as "companion animals" for 4H and we're looking forward to some eggs. These two (Flanagan & Cornelia) are loads of fun and worth all the mess. This is our first "go" at raising ducks and I've found myself on this forum...
