Heeeey! I’m a first time chicken momma . I got my Flock last spring . Started with 14 (2 roosters , 12 hens) down to 8 hens and 2 roosters . Lost one hen last summer to a predator of some kind , lost one in fall to being hit by a car ( she was my fave ) , one disappeared couple weeks ago into the great unknown and came home to one dead in her pen ( no signs of trauma). I love having chickens ! We also have two Peking ducks , Quacks and Quacky. I grew up in town , always a high maintenance city girl . Then I moved to the country, got chickens and never went back to my city girl ways lol .
