You are amazing. I just appreciate you so much. She is in the kitchen next to a vent. She is so alert and wonderful…which is why I just can’t put her down. During the day she does eat and drink on her own and I go out and “tuck her back in”. She is so tired, but willing to get up and take care...
To be super clear on dates I did the five day treatment of 2 teaspoons of cord in the gallon of drinking water for the entire group of hens, and I gave one cc by mouth to the visibly affected Chicken to ensure dosage. (November 16-20) I followed that by the lower dosage for 7 days. Then I...
Thank you SO MUCH! I am offering yogurt and ground meat to boost protein. When you say no grain I am guessing you mean whole grain such as scratch and peck? Or are you including ground grains such as pellets? I read your response after I did the initial corid dose so I did not offer medicated...
Thank you so much for your responses! I had been thinking that it couldn’t possibly be coccidia as no other chickens were showing symptoms and I’ve been a chicken tender for 10 years and I’ve never had it in my flock! I did do the corid before I got this note as a last resort and her diarrhea...
This poor Chicken still continues to have nothing but watery diarrhea with flex of green in it. She will forage if I take her out of the coop and then quickly tires and has to take a rest. She’s not interested in any of the protein I am offering her, but she will eat cooked rice if I sprinkle it...
I forgot to mention that half of the girls are molting, and at firsst this just seemed to be normal molting behavior...it is not a hard molt but she has many feathers coming in.
This is a sweetie we hatched about 3 years ago- easter egger blend.
She has been having increasingly watery green diarrhea over the last couple of weeks and has gone from moving around the coop to being more self isolating. Epson salt bath but didnt feel any stuck egg or reproductive bulging...
Here is a pic of her poop. Not much change today. Lots of massage. Some smell so it feels more like sour crop. I made a crop bra from a disposable mask which seems to be increasing digestive noises which makes me hopeful.
Thank you so much for writing back! We do offer grit however we moved the coop recently and it’s possible she had less access. It was full this morning, but more squishy and I can move the contents around easily, feels the same as it did last night.
She did not ever vomit despite upside down...
Hello friends. We’ve never had an impacted crop before. This is a 3yo hen who we love, and she started looking off a few days ago.
When I picked her up yesterday morning she was very light and her crop was super full. I read up on impacted crop and assumed that was it.
I’ve given two rounds...
