I just saw this post while looking for Naked Neck chicks in SW Mich. I am in Buchanan we are practically neighbors!

It’s about the same size as my silkie chicks the same age. It was part of the fun and funky mix from My Pet Chicken.

Update: unfortunately this sweet baby we called Petrie passed out of the blue this morning. I am so devastated 😪

I say “she” very hopefully because I just can’t have any more Roo’s lol

She is fantastic! Took her a couple of days to get her bearings but she’s catching up with the other chicks pretty quickly. She was our last to hatch 💕

We also may or may not have gone to TSC for supplies and walked out with 2 EE, 2 Brahmas and 2 Barred Rocks 😬☺️

I think everyone that’s going to hatch has hatched. I couldn’t be more pleased with our new flock additions!!

It took a full 2 seconds after snipping away the membrane for it kick itself free! Thank you for the reply!

I didn’t even know that! I was just making sense of what would create a chicken like that and that’s what makes the most sense to me. Thank you for sharing!

That’s what I was thinking; it’s a slightly staggered hatch so today is hatch day for everyone else. If by the end of the day I don’t have more chicks I feel like I should move it to the brooder. I’ve had my eyes on some silkies locally so I guess plan b isn’t the worst option.

So it’s been about 24 hours and no other eggs have hatched this little chick is just pummeling these other eggs. Is that okay or should I move this one chick to the brooder. I worry about it getting cold without the others to huddle with.
