Has your hen’s sprain improved? One of my gals has a sprain, which started over a week ago. I took her to the vet yesterday to make sure I am treating her for the right injury. So far rosin salt baths in the morning and then rest time in the guest bathroom for a few hours, before she gets...
Update: Girls all seem to being doing well! No sneezing and no gasping!!! They are all feeling feisty and full of energy and themselves!!! Yay!!! The Tylosin helped a lot! Thanks to all of you who gave your advice and support.
The younger girls and older girls all seem to be getting along and...
Thank you so much for this break down and explanation. I figured I should not be treating the healthy ones with the injectable, so I have only treated the sneezers and snifflers. Also, it turns out I gave them .05 MIL yesterday for their first dose, not 1 MIL. Whew! :)
Good morning. It is the injectable Tylosin 200. I have only administered the first round yesterday, but nothing more yet, because I did not want to do it wrong, making matters worse.
Sadly, Lavender passed away yesterday. Found her lying on her side in chicken yard, returning from picking up the Tylosin to help with her respiratory problem.
This morning I ministered Tylosin to each of the reds, as they all 5 are sneezing and shake their heads often, as well as runny...
Thank you for the info! 60 is really a lot to tend to with illnesses. Bless you!
Had the mite issue, keeping fingers crossed they are wiped out.
I will keep you posted on how it all turns out. Praying good! 😊 And you as well!
Yes, Lavender's eye is still bad. I attempted to squeeze the eye per that video demonstration, which I actually saw last week. I was able to squeeze a very small amount of pus out. So took her to the Vet and she did not have any success and said she was causing her more harm than good and...
I think dawg53 maybe onto something with the fly strike, as flies have been a HUGE problem this year and have tried about every method to get rid of them. Checked all girls this morning and did not see signs of maggots or mites in their bodies. Two poopy butt chickens, rest seem to have clean...
Thank you for the support. I missed this post yesterday when checking for replies. We are all still alive! 😏. After cleaning everything yesterday and doing a good dose of poultry spray around coop and along the walls and then Seven Dust, I am not seeing wriggly worms right now and hoping mites...
I have completely lost it! Actually broke down and cried this morning! Everyone is now treated for Cocci and worms...but now I am up against a horrible respiratory infection with Red Sex Links. The Gray Lavender still has the sore on her eye but is excelling everywhere else and the two Golden...
