Young crested pekin duckling - missouri

I found a young 3-4 week old crested pekin that was dropped off at the park. I was able to catch him and have a coworker holding him until I can find him a home located in Cape Girardeau Mo

I just recently moved to Missouri after living at a ranch back in Texas I am in the Cape Girardeau area attending SEMO. Just recently there has been a crested one month old dock dropped off at our local park and it absolutely breaks my heart is there anyone that could possibly be able to adopt him?

    Bare Back Hens

So It's been a few months since my other post. My chickens got infested with lice at the beginning of summer and I had to treat my whole flock for it. When that happened I had noticed their backs were bare. At that time I had 5 hens and 2 roosters (one rooster grew up and didn't know it was a...

    Bielefelder X Polish Cross

So my beautiful favorite Polish chicken died last night. Im not sure how, but I held her as she took her last breaths. I'm pretty sure she had a blockage in her intestines, but this post isn't about how she died it's about her offspring. I quickly ran to the coop this morning and gathered all...

    Lice on Chickens

And is this something I apply to the chickens or to the coop?

    Lice on Chickens

I am assuming this is lice, but I haven't noticed my chickens showing any symptoms. Honestly, the only way I found out of these bugs/eggs on them was because my rooster started mounting my hens more and they were losing feathers on their back so I was putting saddles on them. In their vent area...

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

My comfortable is a tad different than normal people since I'm originally from up north and like the cold. My comfortable is 60-70s. My cold is 30-40s. My coop is 12x12 coop and I only put 1 heat lamp in just to keep the ducks and chickens a tad warmer during the night. Online it says 20s is...

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

Yes but they’re also re-populating like crazy. So it’s like. The first problem is dumping the duck the second one is how much these guys mate and have babies everywhere.

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

yeah, they've just limited me to how many animals of each species on our property. I'm going to look at some duck rescues around here and see if I can let them know about these two places.

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

Didn't think about the freezing. I believe most of these ponds have water circulation systems in the middle to keep the water moving during winter in case of a freeze.

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

I know my parents would kill me if I brought home a bunch of ducks, but if I could find a rescue out here that might be a better idea. I believe my laws are pretty similar as long as they are domestic breeds.

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

Yeah, I know it's a lower chance here in Texas, but I just wondered in general. Where my family is up in Boston it would be a lot colder and I just wondered what happened to those ducks in the winter who cant migrate and don't have a barn with heat lamps in the night

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

Very brilliant idea! Do we know if these ducks could for real be in danger during the winter months? If they don’t migrate and they’re out in the cold all winter can that be bad?

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

I Work at Tractor Supply and a bunch of the buyers this year did it due to corona and wanting "something to do" and I know my friend who lives at an apartment complex has well over 100 ducks at his apartment pond where people have been dumping

Domestic Wild Ducks At Park During Winter

well honestly, if I know some of these guys might make it I might have to go catch some to bring home for the winter because thats just awful and I know there's so many people in our area who just dumped this summer.
