    We took her to the vet today. She was full of fluid, her whole abdomen. They drained the fluid and found cysts, all over. Cancer most likely. We put her down 😞 thanks for all your help. This is a wonderful community ✨

    She is a little bit, I saw some in her separate cage this morning, but not much. I’m wondering if this is vent gleet? Her vent is swollen and reddish, and she has had white poop on her feathers back there...maybe that’s a discharge? Any experience in this?

    Ok we did that and we can’t feel anything. Its like her vent and whole underside are swollen. Her vent seems like it’s trying to push constantly.

    Ok we just gave her another warm bath, how far into the vent do we go? If we feel an egg then what? I read it’s dangerous if the egg breaks.

    She’s not doing well, she’s not pooping and very bloated...not sure what we should do but we’re going to call a vet.

    We did grease up a gloved finger and tried to feel around but honestly these are our first hens and we’re not sure what we’re feeling for. I called a local egg farmer and he said she could be egg bound but she’s still eating and drinking and paddling around. So that doesn’t seem likely...
