Hi all!!! Doing ok. Have grown my flock and my business. Focusing on Seramas and Silkies and Polish at the moment.
Have not been around much here I do apologize. MIL had a stroke and then had 3 more so that has been challenging to say the least. Hubby is working long hours and I still work...
I have a mixed flock...only like 5 "big" girls. The rest are small to med sized hens. I have 2 bantam Cochin roosters and I have 4 fertile eggs on day 10 in the incubator. They are really creative with mounting the girls. They will "creep" up behind them when they are dust bathing and just jump...
Thanks y'all!! I am happy with that as I had my OG EE girl (she had the muffs and stuff) but she passed away from a broken egg bound egg. So that makes me happy to know i have another one now!
This girl was at a local hometown supply store. She was sold as an Amercauna but I am not seeing it now that she is older. She is 16 wks old now. There is no beard or feathering as would be if she was. She looks like an eagle :)
Any ideas?
Here is the Buff Laced Polish that I just got. I am pretty sure it was sold as a female but sometimes the farm I go to only does straight run on silkies, bantams and some polish. This one was not marked as straight run :?
Anyone that is familiar with Buff Laced Polishes I would appreciate a conversation. :)
I would like to see a 3 wk old pic of a Buff Laced Rooster and then a grown pic if anyone has one.
Also the same for a female if anyone has one.
Thank you in advance!!!
The herbs and such all have functions of their own and are not shown to impede calcium absorption but in fact aid in it. I appreciate your responses but if it had to do with the feed or the herbs they would all be having issues and not just 1 of them.
I have to agree with Rurumo, in that i...
Hi All! I have had my girls now for almost 1 yr (in June). All have been laying for about 5 months. I feed them layer feed pellets in their feed tube, Fermented feed first thing in the morning (made with garlic, ACV, red chili flakes, sage, oregano), 3 way scratch once a day, and then sprng...
My EE has starting dropping her egg on the ground. I have a one box that everyone wants to use. When the others get desperate enough they will use on of the other 8 boxes...not her: plop, as runs squaking her desperation to use the "favored" box. LOL
What is it with the Bossy EE's?? Mine is affectionately called "The Midwife" as she has to be in the box with everyone while they lay and then check for eggs, sticks her head under them to see what is going on. I just love her!
Welcome!! My girls really help with my anxiety as well. I don't have social anxiety I have Disassociated Anxiety and obsessive thoughts. They really help me focus on caring for them and not on all the things my mind wants to run on and on about. They amuse me as I work I can see them out the...
