One of my two is already showing signs of being a jerk so he’s going to be re-homed. From what I’ve read here and other articles I think three roosters to five hens may be too much stress and breeding for your hens. I have two sapphire gem sex linked pullets in the brooder I will be integrating...
I’m assuming your white leghorns lay white eggs? I’d love some variety in egg coloring. Probably will add Easter eggers and something with white eggs next year.
Thank you for your help. Since the hatchery and or store are not to be trusted 😩 I will assume Cogburn will not be a sweet natured boy so I will need to re-home him. Now to re-name Michelle.
I’m completely new to this chicken thing so I’m rolling with the punches. However, I was not very kind about the 2/6 rooster ratio to what was being sold as pullets. It’s not even like someone picked up a chick and put it back in the wrong place. There were no straight run brooder.
Purchased at Orschelns, they do not care if I have 1/3 of my pullets turn out to be roosters. This is Cogburn at about 11.5 weeks. Compared to Michelle today at 12.5-13 weeks.
