After I pump out the duck kiddie pools, what can I do with the water besides composting? Is it safe to water trees with? Food crops? I'm worried it is either too hot or the bacteria etc from poop could be an issue in food crops.
It's fine if they eat them. Hostas are literally immortal. I accidentally weeded one in the fall without realizing it as it was dormant and I didn't see the tuber clump. Got tossed in the tarped over compost pile and was happily sprouting away in the spring, laying on top of the compost pile on...
I want to put a couple of plants in pots in the far corners of my duck run where it's crawl access only so they don't try to lay there. Most of the area is blocked off by their 2 duck ponds, but someone crafty might find a way to climb out and get stuck or nest there.
Are there any nontoxic...
I've got some 2 week old ducklings using the 1.5 gallon duck waterers from TSC and they're already at the point I have to fill it 3x a day. They'll probably be in their stock tank brooder another week and then they'll be too big for it and put in a barn stall.
I'm hoping to see some designs I...
Chicken and hog poop isn't bad imo, I have both of those. Cows... cows are yuck lol. For whatever reason my brain won't tolerate the smell of peas or brussel sprouts. I start dry heaving idk why.
I have 32 khaki campbell ducklings arriving in March. Locally it seems as though there is only chick starter available (in large bags) and of course it doesn't have niacin. There's plenty of adult pellets to consider for later.
The employee I spoke to said they gave their ducks thawed frozen...
I have other livestock so I have those livestock tanks in 50 and 100 gallon sitting around, that's not an issue. I have khaki campbells on order which supposedly lay the best and on par with many breeds of chicken. I swear I've seen ducks use ramps before. I have no coop here that does not...
I purchased this used chicken coop from a friend so I can run some ducks, I've been getting a lot of requests for duck eggs. Right now I'm trying to solve how to set up some kind of pool for the ducks to enjoy. I'd like to use the space under the coop itself. It's only 2 feet high, and about...
So far so good. We used a few RV anchors rated for 1000lbs with wire rated for 6k lbs of force and some turn buckles.
Mostly I just have to hope the chickens don't excavate too much around the cement blocks and cause issues lol. Thinking I'm going to fill with soil and throw down hardware...
We have auto doors on their coops, she'd had maybe 2 hours to eat in the morning before I saw her. Her crop emptied later in the day and still seems empty, she doesn't appear to be eating and isn't letting me syringe feed her a mash of pellets and warm water.
I can't imagine an eye hurting so...
