Hi all
Wondering if someone can point me in the right direction. I've fallen for a breed that appears to be pretty elusive and i'm hoping someone on here knows a guy who knows a guy!
I'm desperately seeking Hergnies chickens, either hatching eggs or live birds to add to my flock. So far i've...
Hi
I appreciate this post was a while back but figured there was no harm in asking.
Do you still have contact details for the guy in UK who breeds Hergnies or if not do you still have the breed and by any chance breed them? Im desperately trying to source a few for my flock and cant find them...
Im in UK, west midlands specifically. Anything local to me are private backyard breeders so its pot luck whether you find a responsible breeder. on ebay there are alot more options for hen eggs than there are quail (well the celadon i was looking for were limited). The 2 batches ive received...
Thank you :hugsill see if our chemist/pharmacy sells it. never bought it before but imagine its readily available. Might do a hatch along with this lot, see how it turns out and see if we get any stowaways along for the ride
i could certainly try, i don't want to spray the eggs with the insecticide incase it kills the eggs. Ill just wipe them over, set them and if i see any little creepy crawlies appear inside my incubator ill just do what i did with the last lot and squish them all and spray incubator with total...
only issue is ive already bought them into my home, they were delivered so didnt know there were mites crawling inside the polystyrene box until id opened it up. Its only been on my kitchen shelf by back door, ive sprayed that shelf around the box several times with total mite kill hoping itll...
do they sell in the UK? ive struggled to find specifically that but found this which contains permethrin but it states not to apply to animal so unsure. I have read that after i bought multi mite DE but ive not used it yet as didnt want my young flock to get sick. Could i roll the eggs in it to...
Amazon, im not sure...this was the product description that said it was for brooder so i went with it but from now on ill just stick to what is supplied at the pet store
Like Rhodebar Lover said, id agree its likely a pullet although its still early days. If you go by the feathering, in pullets the pattern is consistent all over whereas Cockerels the pattern becomes broken and you'll see more black coming through as they get older, particularly on the underside...
I only did it as dont think they were a good brand, they were a set id bought off amazon and looked cheap so i used them up but didnt risk over using it. id found that after 2 weeks the red colour disappears and they just looked like regular bulbs so i changed out frequently. This last set are...
Thank you, i will def update...quail are a whole new challenge it seems. So far ive been lucky, id say 85% since i bought a brinsea and with chickens only 1 loss next day - my 1 and only FCM which had a saddlebag air cell from going through the post. The air cell took up a huge amount of space...
