Has anyone else had problems raising hatchery silver laced polish? I've raised three batches from three hatcheries, (Meyer, Hoover's, Ideal) all mixed colors (WCB, silver, gold, and buff) and each time lost most of the silvers. The latest batch I lost every single silver, and all the other...
Day of arrival. Wc blues. Buff and silver laced. And black crested whites. I'm a newbie with chickens. They are friendly nice pets. But i think they do have flaws. Main one being missing toes! Lots of them....
Ok and I apparently hit the wrong thing...sorry!
I too have horrible service out here. I have pictures of those grown up. (Except the wcb, it didn't make it) I have 13 total polish from Ideal. I'll try to load pics. May have to wait for good service "in town" at work!
I have questions about polish colors. My whole flock was killed by a determined fox. There were several eggs in the box so I borrowed an incubator and took a chance at hatching some. 3 hatched! They are such strange colors. I had a buff laced roo over two white crested blacks, a silver laced and...

Thanks! I had read that before but I reread it. The chicks membrane was rather tan looking so I slowly assisted. Left and came back and he's out!! Also transferred the others to the brooder.
Thanks for all the advice everyone!! Two chicks have hatched. The original pip has not. It's been 36 plus hours. When do I help? Also those two are banging around. When do you move them to the brooder?
Hi guys. I have 11 eggs in lockdown. This is my.first hatch. Humidity at 75% right now. One pipped and hatched within 8 hours. Another had pipped but not progressed much. How long can it take? I could see it still moving this morning. Also, should I be concerned that the others have not pipped...
This is my "guaranteed" pullet! I've only had hens before, but he's been really nice so far, so I guess i will keep him around. Can anyone critique him for me? He's supposed to be a buff laced?
These chicks came from an "assorted polish" bin at the local feed store. Does anybody know what colors they will turn out? I know they buy their chicks from Ideal. Thanks!
