Box is 2.5 ft by 1.5ft, holes are small drill bit sized, 1 normal sized Rhode Island Red Rooster and 1 small silkie rooster.
Also they’re only in there generally from like 3:30am-7:30am. And it’s only if they start crowning at the usual 3:30am.
Hi, I’m curious about the behaviors of my roosters.
I had a white RIR first and he’s the alpha
Then after getting a few hens I got a black silkie rooster.
When those two met the WRIR proceeded to try and mate with the smaller BSR all day long. BSR definitely fought it and screamed a bunch at...
They reduced the noise a little bit but it doesn’t stop them from crowing. It makes them sounds like they’re being choked as they crow bc they are basically.
I put my RIR and silkie roosters in this box at night in the garage covered by a tarp(not tight just on top) and in the morning the roosters seem damp to the touch. And I don’t want to be putting them out in the cold if they’re damp, especially the silkie. Anyone know why this is happening or...
My RIR White rooster usually crowed around 7/7:30am, time change happened and it was 5:30am for a week and now it’s 4:30am. How can I get him back to 7/7:30? Anytime before that is way too early and it’s usually dark out still.
I was going to cover the bottom sides in plywood to further enclose it and then take the wire floor out. In all but 1 of the four spaces. Do you think I could get the hens to use that one space as a big nest if I put a wood floor in it and wood sidings all around it. I have 4 hens. And then...
I bought a used large rabbit hutch that I figured I could convert to a chicken coop and have some ideas but would love advice/ideas as well.
its 10 ft long and 32” wide, floor to top is about 8 feet.
I obviously want to cover the bottom half so it’s more of an enclosed coop.
I was thinking...
Dang almost looks like a silkie/black orp cross. My two black orp hens have some of this coloring in them too. My (suspected) silkie roo wouldn’t be able to get near them as they bully him tho and they’re not into letting any of my Roos mate them yet.
I got what I thought was a silkie rooster from a lady. It doesn’t crow, and if it is a rooster then it’s definitely the beta rooster Bc I have a larger white RIR rooster who leads the flock. They don’t fight each other, when I initially put it in the flock, my RIR wing danced near it like it was...
