I’m hoping it heals. My biggest concern is infection, but he’s made it this long & has only improved, so I would hope we’re over the risk. He’s inside & I clean his wound multiple times a day.
We secured everything & have had no more losses so far. The crazy raccoon even went as far as tearing up singles on the chicken coop roof! He’s much happier now & feisty! He’s just ready to go out with his friends, he’s been cooped up inside for a while now.
I will try to take a better picture this evening. It’s his wing, not under it on his body. Which makes me think it wouldn’t be his ribs, but I don’t know the anatomy of ducks very well. He lifts his wing & the wound goes up with him if that makes sense?🤣

He was attacked. This is a bite wound. The scab fell off and this it what’s exposed now. If you turn your phone brightness up & zoom in. You can see the hard pieces circled. I’m just not sure what they are.
