    Is this enough ventilation?

Also, planning on using sand for the floor material, but possibly looking into something like horse pellets since they are so absorbent. Sand is seeming like a good option because I will have a lot of feathered feet to think about, and I like the idea that it will help keep them cleaner and...

    Is this enough ventilation?

Yup, already have the sweet PDZ, use it, and love it. That's exactly what we will be using under the roosts, except the PDZ stall dry instead of coop refresher, since it's the same thing, just more for cheaper. If we had a home Depot closer to us, I would for sure look into buying it in bulk...

    Is this enough ventilation?

Thank you! I was actually just looking for this particular thing, but I'm still unsure now if that would be enough? Although our air filtration system definitely helps push fresh air through the coop, so maybe it would be. That's the major reason we invested in it, so maybe I'll try that and...

    Is this enough ventilation?

We're just trying to do the best with what we have, which it seems like many people have successfully done before. Again, I came here for help, but I don't feel the judgement is accomplishing that. I see the information you left about ventilation, but we already understand that the ventilation...

    Is this enough ventilation?

I'm calling them that because that's what the sign at Menards called them... Sorry if it's not the correct technical name for whatever the vents we put in are. I'm sorry, but I don't get the attitude? I'm just here because I wanted help, and all I've gotten is what seems like severe judgement...

    Is this enough ventilation?

I definitely like that idea - I've actually seen a bunch of old windows on Facebook marketplace and thought it would be cool to add those to the coop somehow. And yeah, the overhang thing has been the major reason we put in the soffit vents because they came with the cover already. I wish they...

    Is this enough ventilation?

It was recommended by a fellow popular chicken keeper, "The Featherbrain," specifically for use inside the chicken coop as it helps to not only filter the air for particulates, but increases air flow in from the outside of the coop, draws it through the filter, and then helps to push the air...

    Is this enough ventilation?

Yeah, we've tried to research quite a bit, but there's not much information when it comes to this style of shed - we're kind of going off of other YouTubers who are also concerned with the ventilation in their coops similar to ours. It's also difficult to find workable solutions and exactly how...

    Is this enough ventilation?

We have an 8' x 10' shed we are in the process of converting to our new chicken coop. It is a resin shed, and only came with a few measly screened slats on the front and back of the shed. Obviously this isn't enough ventilation, so we added 3, 4" soffit vents on either side, directly under the...

are cuckoo marans a broody breed?

I know this post is old, but I came here to ask this because I wasn't under the impression that marans were especially broody, but my cuckoo maran is the only standard size bird I have that has gone full broody this year! She is doing a great job so far, and can't wait for her hatching eggs to...

    Share your chicken math story!

It really happens SO FAST, doesn't it? I personally wouldn't have it any other way, though. I will also say, I was planning on giving a few of ours to a friend so they could start their own flock, but now I'm becoming attached to the ones I was considering giving away. Maybe I should order...

    Share your chicken math story!

Oh yeah, we are waiting on our new shed to get here so we can convert it into a big, roomy chicken coop. Currently we have 3 smaller, separate ones, definitely not big enough to accommodate all of our growing chickens lol.

    Share your chicken math story!

I know this post is older, but I legit just came to talk about our most recent chicken math story, so I figured this must be the perfect place! So, around 15 months ago, we had no chickens. ---> Count: 0 chickens Suddenly, we had two young (maybe 6 week old) pullets just meander onto our front...

What color would you say this bantam Cochin chick will be?

It wouldn't surprise me. They sold me 3 BCM's as bantams even though I argued with them and told them I believed they were marans. 🤷‍♀️ Oh well, I guess. The other 3 "bantams" I ended up with I believe are one golden seabright, one silver seabright, and a sweet little porcelain d'uccle. Win...

What color would you say this bantam Cochin chick will be?

Thank you! That makes sense now about the black feet and legs that were throwing me off. I got her from an assorted bantam mix at TSC, so I figured no way would I have gotten a silkie there, but I stand corrected! I love silkies, too, so I'm happy either way!
