We fill small bottles with water and freeze. We drop these into their self-watering container providing cool water for several hours. Repeat as needed! I also freeze chunks of melon and provide ice cubes in the pen for their consumption. Bagged frozen veggies work too!

The size of the Wire you used allows many predators in. Weasels, squirrels, possom,etc. I would recommend 1/2 inch hard cloth. The name is deceiving. Hardcloth can be found at box hardware stores. Hardcloth is metal with a half inch grid. Very protective

One of my six hens only lays abour every third day and the egg typically looks like this picture. I don't know if these eggs are safe to eat or not. But more importantly is there anything I can do to correct the situation? It looks to be seamed and then there are some calcium bumps on top...

One of our RIR got attacked through by a dog. They pulled most of her tail feathers out and lots of blood. I got her quickly separated and we washed the injury down with saline -- then some antibiotic spray. Still bled profusely so use syptic which seemed to get stuff under control. Its 36...
;)Thanks to all...The food was it primarily..Although it was fresh everyday I don't think they were eating enough..I was using a smaller feeder and I think their heads got too dang big. I also switched from chick medicated to starter/layer.They seem much better and will be out of the air...
