    No, I mean a wood chuck was in there when the chickens were out free ranging and the front door was open.

    Yep, we have set up traps and the neighbors in town have had a fisher cat get their chickens so Im hoping it's not that. I have also found a wood chuck inside the coop. Although I don't think they eat chickens. Thanks for the advise.

    I was HOT, that is the thing. It was plugged into a fan in the coop and this THING actually chewed it and pulled it enough that is unplugged from the fan. AGHHH.

    This morning we went to the coop to find our extension cord that runs underneath to door, shredded and the rubber underneath the exterior door was also shredded. Thank god it didn't get in but was just wondering if anyone knew of a specific predator that is know for that. Or could it be...

    Sour Crop *Update* Another hen has Impaction/Sour Crop.....

    It's so sad. I had to have my chicken put to sleep. It was horrible and stuff was just oozing out of her. I feel so bad,but I know it wasn't fair to keep her like that either. Sorry to hear about Fluffy Cheeks.:(

My chicken has the same thing but my problem is there is no vet that works on chickens in my area but I finally found one an hour away but they had to book me in April UGHH. I called a local vet and she did drain the crop but it came right back the next...

    I don't know if I can be of much help, but I am going through the same thing with my chicken. I actually brought her to the vet and had it drained but the next day it was filled back up(in the am before eating) It feel all swishy right? They told me to feed her baby food or unsweetened apple...

    I am so sorry. That is very sad :( I am dealing with a sick chicken that I can't seem to get better. I know how you feel. You try to do everything but just don't know what else to do. P.S. I have a one year old chicken that looks exactly like her :)
