Duck postmortem, filled with grit? GRAPHIC PHOTOS

Thanks! They do free range but we also provide all flock crumbles and free choice calcium grit. We did notice in the last week she was starting to self isolate and would stand out in the field meticulously eating something. I didn’t see much food material inside her so I wasn’t sure if she was...

Duck postmortem, filled with grit? GRAPHIC PHOTOS

We had a duck in my workplace flock that went downhill very quickly over the last week and died. I did my first amateur postmortem on her to find that her gizzard was very large and totally stuffed with gravel and almost nothing else. In hindsight I did see her out by herself in the field...

She is still unstable and seems unable to run or jump, and places her feet very deliberately when walking. Ears look normal. She has also...

Thanks! I got all the maggots and fly eggs off, no sign of external trauma, her poop seems a little soft but normal color, and she has not laid any eggs since I brought her home, I will try the supplements and see how she does!

One year old Dominique, unsteady gate, lethargic, swollen abdomen

This hen at my workplace flock was acting egg bound a week ago (lethargic, isolated, squatting awkwardly) so we gave her a couple epson salt baths which seemed to perk her back up. Then a few days later she didn’t come back to roost and I found her wedged face down under a bush with her vent...
