I generally don't have a problem with escapees from the coop. During the day they are in a run attached to the coop. I remove the back wall and the roof, and close the chicken door to the run. The I can sweep the coop out, sprinkle shell flour, and let the sun shine on it for a couple hours.
The smaller attack roosters are more troublesome. They are difficult to catch, and execute aerobatics as part of their attacks. The more personable of my BCM roosters once did his wing display and shuffle dance for me, but not since I trimmed his wing on one side. He is embarrased to show it off...
My smaller flock of 4 is in a small hutch that measures 2'x4'x18", with an outdoor run that is 20x20. During 3 seasons of the year it is fine, but during the winter it becomes a muddy mess.
