    Pheasant Chicks Not Eating/Drinking?

We received 20 pheasant chicks from Hoover Hatchery by mail last Thursday. One arrived dead and we've had three more die over the past couple days. There's a fourth who looks like he's not going to make it. I'm trying to figure out what's going on in case I need to do something for the other 15...

    Failure to thrive?

I've got one chick out of a batch of 16 day olds that arrived on the 2nd that is having issues and I can't seem to figure out what it is. Chick seems to be smaller compared to the others and isn't growing wing feathers at the rate of the others either. Seems very sleepy, and often is standing...

    Sick Turkey, Drooping Head

He should be about 2 to 3 years old. I think he's a standard bronze, although I'm not 100%. They're on Nutrena All Flock 20% Protein pellets. I'll see if I can get him in a hospital cage tomorrow to check his poop.

    Sick Turkey, Drooping Head

Found our tom turkey standing in his pen today with his head down (eyes open). He lives with two other ladies, both of which seem fine. Usually the three of them come running when we feed them, but tom was just standing there with his head down the whole time. Tried just putting some food in...

    **NPIP Ancona Ducklings**

If I were to order hatching eggs, do you have an idea what color ratio I could expect? At the moment I have a bunch of black anconas and I'd like to get some more chocolate and blue for variety. Also, about how often do you ship out? I'm out of incubator space at the moment. :O Thanks!

Oh my gosh, I've got hatching fever. In case there are people not subscribed to the other thread, I thought I'd ask here as well... I know it's kind of late, but does anyone around the Antelope Valley or Santa Clarita Valley area have goose hatching eggs? I'm looking to get some to set with my...

    High Desert, California!!

I know it's kind of late, but does anyone around the Antelope Valley or Santa Clarita Valley area have goose hatching eggs? I'm looking to get some to set with my duck eggs (which I will be receiving in the next couple days). Not really picky on breed. I'm interested to see what people have in...

Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

It goes up inside of them? Where does she think it comes from originally? XD It was already in there once. I wonder what she thinks about the fact that there are tiny little urine and poop particles floating around everywhere. Maybe humans have evolved a resistance to sucking back up poop...

    crushed beak

How bad is it crushed? Do you have a picture? Last time I had to force feed a duck I used a needle less syringe and some food that I added water too until it was soft enough to suck up with the syringe. Before I had the syringe, I used a straw. XD But I agree with the above poster. Try letting...

    Hubby shows lil' enthusiasm

This actually reminded me of a Sociology class I took where it was explained that male testosterone levels peak in the morning and tend to fall quite a bit by evening. I guess in that way it makes sense that you're so energized in the morning! I say, do your project anyway! :D Maybe get a...

Dumbest Things People Have Said About Your Chickens/Eggs/Meat

Oh man. The first time I raised quails, we hatched them from eggs we found outside, 14 hatched. All but 3 died. It was extremely sad because I had them for about a week in my room where I spent a lot of time watching them. After about a week, I found one dead when I woke up and another that...
