    When do you separate the mother hen from her nine baby chicks?

    I have a 5 month old Brahma chick, with big feathered feet still staying close to mom who is sitting on live eggs due to hatch end of month. Will the chick be a problem for the babies, like stepping on them, etc? Thank you for your help.
