    Still think it’s a rooster??

When I first got these girls, one looked a little weird. I was told by most here that judging by the pictures I posted, one was a rooster. Well, here they are now and around 16 weeks old. Do any of these look like a rooster??

    Updated Pic of Whatever-This-Is

Yep. RIR. I have some girls and their combs are there but not quite as big. Not that much of a difference really. I was hoping it was NOT a rooster.

    Updated Pic of Whatever-This-Is

Just about 8 weeks old. The comb and wattle aren't as big as pics of other young roosters I see. And the tail feathers seem well defined, not scraggly like it showed roosters have. Thoughts?

    Bare Ground or Straw?

I went with grass clippings. We have plenty of lawn to mow once a week and it's easily raked out and replaced. And I'm in NJ by the shore.

    Bare Ground or Straw?

RIRs, yes. 5 girls and it seems 1 boy. But he's going to have to go.

    Bare Ground or Straw?

Probably not. They have the run of the whole yard. That coop is pretty much their bedtime spot.

Hello! 1st time post! Rooster or hen?

Thank goodness. I thought the x2 meant they saw another roo in the pic! Unfortunately, I was supposed to be given all girls. I guess someone goofed. I won't be able to keep him as I don't want baby chickens and the crowing won't make me OR my neighbors thrilled! Now I have no idea where to find...

    Bare Ground or Straw?

Below is a pic of my coop. The girls (and, apparently, a boy) pretty much just go in there to sleep at night. Do you think the bare ground is ok, or will it be better to dump some straw in there to make cleaning easier? I figure raking it out every few days may be more hygienic?

Hello! 1st time post! Rooster or hen?

I just started keeping chickens this year. We got what we were TOLD were 6 Rhode Island Red pullets. I have the feeling this one may be a roo. Size of comb, looks of the tail, black under the tail. Supposedly 6 weeks old now. Any thoughts?
