Iim looking for cayuga ducklings or young ducks (1 year or younger) and turkey poults (6 months or younger). I would also be interested in hatching eggs. Also looking for a few EE hens.
Im located in sulivan county NH and will travel anywhere withing sullivan county. I am also willing to drive...
yeah that is a bit far =( shame, the cream legbars are pretty, i would have been happy with some females of those.
Im also now looking for some started turkeys as ours was just taken by a resident fox we didnt know we had (found a den hidden deep in the pine trees). so i need to catch it and...
does anyone have any Cayuga ducklings or hatching eggs available around Sullivan County? I also frequently go to lebanon, new london and i have plans to go to keene this week, could also probably make an excuse to go to concord sometime. really want some more. I got 4 from Runnings and all but 1...
the first two are younger, probably about 3-4 months or so? i cant remember the hatch date. the last ones are about a month older since i started the next batch right after the first hatch. so id say 4-5 months on the other ones. most of the older ones are silkie/easter egger mixes so they have...
ive got a few chickies i think may be roos but need a hand at knowing for sure. any help is appreciated.
i thought the colors were more like a pullet, but its got a 3 row pea comb, which i DO have a hen with 3 rows, but just want to double check.
this is a wyandotte/easter egger that im...
they are all together right now, since we are in the process of putting up a fence and im mostly experimenting with hatching. once the fence is up, i want to rebuild the whole coop and section it off into 3 sections: multi-flock, breeder and brooder. i lost a few wyandotte hens this winter (so...
im back again!
thinking i have all pullets (if so, it will be the luckiest ive ever been on my chicken journey), but the red one is making me question myself. it really is more of a red than a brown but it looks so pullet-like otherwise. flat comb so i cant judge by that but still looks pale...
Thanks everyone! I hope they are all pullets, and that would be the most luck I have had in a while! A surprise purebred wyandotte (only one roo and 2 hens in a mixed flock of 25ish) turned out to be a cockerel but that's it. I gave 2 chicks to a coworker so I don't know how those turned out...
thank you. i have a terrible time with silkies. i have one that is a couple months old at least and still have no idea what it is (my husband says its his and we have to keep it either way lol). i loved the little black one since it hatched so i want to keep it. maybe ill see what others say and...
im disappointed. i did my first hatch in April and had a pretty good hatch rate despite fluctuating temps and a 2 hour power outage in cold weather and no heat. this time, with 29 eggs, the temp has been pretty steady through the whole process. but when i candled the eggs at day 14, i could see...
im great with Easter Eggers, but terrible with silkies on judging gender. and all of these chicks have silkie in them and its messing with me a little, namely, the combs. any help? these guys are 5 weeks and im hoping to know the genders since i have someone tomorrow taking the suspected...
i havent been on this thread in forever! i was brand new to chickens when i was first here and now my birds are all grown and so much has happened. this past winter was brutal on my chickens. i lost a few and had one poor roo get frostbite on his feet and now he has stumps =( he seems happy...
i do remember you posted that and its helpful information, but id only use it as a last resort. I prefer finding them homes where they can live out their life, but if i cant find any, ill probably bring them up there but its quite a drive for me.
So all 4 of the chicks I got at TSC turned out to be cockerels. And worse than that, they are not barred rock like they were listed, apparently they are sex links.
Anyone want them? Lol located in Newport
