I hope that is the case. Had a few paranoid mornings where I kept expecting to see them ALL dead. So far everyone seems good. Whew. Thanks, it was sad.
Just saw this thread, I'm in the Antelope Valley also, up in Rosamond. New to chickens, we have 10 chicks right now, all from Odyssey. I know we have 4 pullets, because they are BSLs, but the others we will have to see. :)
We have 2 Easter Eggers, 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes, and 4 Black Sex Link.
They are very close to me, and where I got my chicks from. Great people. Only thing I didn't like is having to choose from straight run chicks, because now I will have to cull my Roos.
Here is one of my 7 day old SLW.
Same SLW (we call that one "Him" lol) and Buffy, our EE.
This is our other EE, Cleopatra.
Same SLW, guess he was the only one posing. ;)
Here is everyone. Minus today's addition the BSLs. I will get pictures of them tomorrow.
Thanks everyone!
I DID run down and pick up 4 BSL. So now we have ten chicks. ;) I am SO hoping they eat the black widows. I was going to post a thread about it, hoping they don't get sick when they eat them. Also, I'm sure I will be posting tons of pics of my first 6 so you guys can help me...

I had to hold off on buying my new chicks! Had to drive husband and his Malinois to LAX (200 miles round trip) because they are leaving for the midwest for a big competition. HOWEVER, our daughter I guess is sick! So I just...
I am So Cal, but a close to being not. ;-) We're just over the county line into Kern County, near Edwards AFB.
New to chickens, I brought 6 home the other day but I'm already dying to go back and get more...
Let us start here:
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? OMG yes!!! I brought 6 home yesterday.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 6 but I want to try and pick up more tomorrow. Is this bad? Am I already addicted? I'm worried.
(3) What breeds do you...
