What's your too-many-roos story? We've had about 50 chickens free-ranging here, as well as turkeys and ducks.
We've had as many as 50 chickens, about a dozen of whom were roos. One of our adult roos, having no hens of his own, adopted our big setting turkey hen as "his big woman" and and kept guard over her while she was setting. Stray Dogs Again!@#@!!!*
Yeah, just love these city folks who think, "Now I've moved to the country, my dog can run free!!!" I have had to "shoot, shovel, and shut up" several times. We had a closed cage of twenty chicks wiped out in one hour by a husky who was clever enough to open the latch. Large dog pack also...- mamasimba
