Here is our situation. 5 weeks ago we got 4 day old chicks. One turned out to be a roo so we went back to the lady we got the chicks from and got another pullet from the same hatch date. The new girl was brooded with about 20 others while our 4 grew up in our living room in a large dog crate...
I just saw your post on my thread :) The not knowing sucks. People on here told me to wait a couple weeks and it would be obvious and they were totally right. around 4.5 weeks it was quite obvious our little roo was much different looking then the others. It's just so hard to wait!
i dont think its 100% because our other girls have the start too but they are very very tight. Almost like its just a clearing in the feathering for them because they look nothing like Raylan.
They are soooo cute. Ours are 5 weeks old. They change so fast but your right, they just get cuter and more fun the older they get! We are first timers and it's the best time ever.I never thought we would be these people. hahaaa
Thats what ours looked like a 3 weeks and now he is 5 weeks and looks like this! Boy all the way. Some of our girls are slightly pink but short tight combs, nothing like Raylan here. I bet your other girls are fine. Our girls also feathered out faster than Raylan. He was the last to get rid of...
Well I think you guys definately called it. We are now calling him Raylan and currently looking for a home for him. He is very sweet and held daily. Doesn't crow yet, is 5 weeks old. If you live in Minnesota and would consider adding him to your flock please let me know. I want him to be well...
I am also from Minnesota! We live near Albertville. We have 4.5 week old chicks. So much fun. You will learn so much here and then even more just having the chicks. We have 4 and we already feel like a pro. Good luck on your journey, it's going to be a blast. :)
We need to rehome our Barred Rock Rooster. He is 5 weeks old and is very sweet. Great coloring. We live in the city and cannot have any roosters at all :( I am heartbroken that he turned out to be a boy and worry about him being butchered. We are looking for a good home for him where is can do...
