Are you in a pretty rural area?
I'm surprised! I always have to slow, and creep down the road on the way to my veterinarian's office because of the suicidal guineas that love to sit in the road. It's in the country, and I never thought much about it. Certainly not enough to complain. I...
We've had some that did lay longer than two years... Fewer eggs, but some nonetheless. I don't know everyone else's experiences. Our "worlds oldest chicken" laid an egg this spring. (We don't know how old she was, except she was old!)
Ours were always pets, and had too many to know who were...
I haven't, but can't wait to go! I'm almost surprised I haven't been yet even though it started Thursday.
I don't care about the rides, maybe play a few games, but mostly I want to see the chickens, cows, and all the exhibits. Oh, and of course eat the most unhealthy food I'll eat all year...
I just wanted to say I'm so happy to read something a 9 year old wrote that doesn't include weird capitalization, numbers instead of letters and sentences I can read and understand!
And I don't have any information about the vaseline, except I've always gone under the assumption chickens can do...
Up until about 3 weeks ago, there was a lone chicken in our barn. She was old, for a chicken I'm sure, but we had no way of knowing how old exactly. She was the last surviving chicken from my brother's chicken raising time, several years ago and her name was "World's Oldest Hen" (not the most...

I used to let our Jack Russell into the chicken pen and turn over feed bins for him to get the mice. If he missed one, or he wasn't around and a mouse ran out from under a bucket the chickens would grab them. It's something that's hard to get your mind around until you see them do it! They...
I can do the head under the wing and rocking hypnosis. I tried the other way a few times, but couldn't get it to work (I believe it though! I just had an alternative!). Growing up, my dad required us to sing "rock a bye baby", and said it wouldn't work otherwise.
It's a fun trick to show...
A few weeks ago, I saw an article about wild birds (swallows) that were attached. They had made it through hatching, but died later. They said it must have been double yolks. But whether they would all (double yolks) be attached or separate...hmm...

Thanks for saying it--my thoughts exactly! When I lived near Apex (not in 'town') we were very close to having cary annex our rural farming neighborhood.
Ah, I remember the shiny diner issue now, I'd forgotten!
