Unfortunately she is no longer improving and still won’t eat on her own. She also cannot keep herself warm even under the heat lamp. Hand feeding is keeping her alive for now but I suspect there is just something wrong internally and I don’t think she’ll make it. Thank you so much for your help...
She is somewhat smaller than the others. I am out at work right now, but i will try the mash when i get back. Also just recieved an update from my mother at home, who says that she was out from under the heat lamp and seemed to be eating on her own. Thank you so much for your help!
She is in with the others and knows where the food is. I have seen her peck at it a bit herself, but she doesnt seem to be eating it or at least not eating enough. With the yolk, i had to put it in her mouth.
Update: have been hand feeding her bits of boiled egg yolk as well, she seems to have perked up quite a bit. Still tired, but drinks on her own + poops. I think the issue is she's not really eating on her own. Hopefully this will give her the energy to figure it out and start on her own.
Thanks! I’m not sure if I have liquid vitamins, might have some lying around somewhere. In the mean time I’ll try sugar water and hope that gives her some energy.
Noticed today that one if my chicks (5 days old) isn’t eating or running around like the others. She seems very lethargic and mostly just sits under the heat lamp and sleeps, as well as being weaker than the others. I’ve seen her drink a bit but she doesn’t have much interest in food. She seemed...
Here's a pic with slightly better lighting. Still not the best, cuz my camera sucks and theyre running around all over the place. Im fairly certain 2 are splash, 1 is blue, and the other two i still cant tell.
3 does have a darker patch on their back/ shoulders, a darker beak than the other lighter greys too. I will try to update with a better picture when i can. It should also help when their feathers start to come in.
Had some chicks hatch yesterday, fairly certain all are australorps although some eggs were unmarked. We had 9 in total but five greys, and I am struggling to tell if they are blue, splash or both! Any ideas?
I am fairly certain 1 is a splash and 5 is a blue, but the others are somewhat...
I Have recently acquired an australorp pullet who I assumed initially was a splash. However, she is pale grey in colour and almost looks lavender, with the exception of some black flecks in her feathers and some halfway black feathers, but no fully black feathers. Is she actually a splash or is...
Hi! Im Mangocrow, or Mango for short (i prefer not to share my real name online). I have kept chickens with my family since i was three or four (so about 15-16 years now) mostly as pets but also for the eggs. I made an account as i have a newly acquired chicken with some interesting colouring...
