    Thank you! So, I’m betting that I’ll get a random mixture of egg colors in the spring... that’s kind of exciting and mysterious! Haha. Does anyone know where the feathers on the feet come from? The woman told me but I can’t remember what she said!! :confused:

    These were sold to me as “barnyard mix straight run chicks.” When I went to pick them up the lady told me they were just a mix of all of her different breeds but she did say that some of them were just “Ameraucanas.” I’m almost certain I have one little rooster in the mix but hoping the rest are...

    When do leghorns start laying?

    I have three leghorns. Two of them started laying last Monday at 17 weeks old. The other is nowhere near ready to lay. Very small comb and wattles that aren’t red at all. Very quiet and isn’t squatting. Patiently waiting for the last of the three to start laying! :)
