Good to know. Do you think there's anything else I can try to help with the sneezing at this point, or just keep waiting and see what happens? I am pretty sure one of them stopped sneezing but the other still is. I wanted to start integrating them with the bigger girls, but I feel like I should...
About two and a half weeks ago, I brought home two, ~4 month old Salmon Faverolle pullets (Frances and Harriet the 2nds).
I had previously posted about a different Fav pullet of the same age (Frances #1), which I got from the same local breeder but who started displaying sneezing, runny nose...
Hi there, I brought home two ~4 month old pullets about 5 days ago. One is a Salmon Faverolle and the other is an Easter Egger. We have three older hens, and I've had them separated in the run by a fence (so they can still see each other and be somewhat close) and they have been sleeping in...
I got help examining her and we did not see any worms.
I haven't been seeing her squint too much over the past day or so.
However, this morning when I picked her up to give her the Clavamox both her eyes immediately were watery and bubbly again (though one eye potentially worse than the other)...
Without manipulating her eyes like in the video (is that the only way to tell??), but by looking at her really closely, I don't think I see worms moving around. She is still squinting when the breeze isn't blowing (and the other ladies are not squinting even when it is blowing).
Does Gertrude (3 y/o RIR) have an eye infection? She is currently on day 11 of a 14 day course of Clavamox prescribed by vet due to coming down with potential EYP about a week and a half ago. She has overall been recovering well over the past week, back to her normal self, but this morning when...
Hi there,
I was taking a look at the feet of my 3 y/o Buff Orpington, Marilyn, recently. Last year, I had treated her for scaly leg mites due to the presence of raised scales; however I discontinued this after showing my vet some photos as she believed they were actually old scales. Well, it...
I just noticed that the scales on the feet of my Buff Orpington hen (Marilyn) are lifted up, particularly near her toes. This also seems to be the case with two of my other hens, a RIR and PR. It seems to be the worst for Marilyn, but she (and the other ladies) are all acting normal. However...
She is turning 2 years old this Thursday! She has never done a full molt all at once - there have been periods where I've noticed a few of her feathers accumulating around the run, but nothing obvious on her body (unlike the other hens). I have noticed these white speckles on her head feathers...
Hi all, I noticed that the feathers around the face and head of my black australorp (Dora) have white specks on the tip. It has been like this for several months - honestly has progressed so slowly that I have not really been concerned. She behaves normally, lays eggs, has never shown any signs...
Her crop feels squishy and full of liquid. I will get her going on the Baytril then. How much should I be dosing her with? The bottle says 'Baytril 22.7 mg/ml' and says to do 1ml orally 2x a day for 10 days.
I also have Meloxicam for pain relief and anti inflammation. Bottle says 0.7 ml every...
Okay, this morning Gertrude was drinking a ton of water, and I just saw this on the dropboard. I am now convinced that she isn't out of the woods. I am worried about giving her the expired antibiotics so will try to obtain some fresh (unless we think its not a problem with the Baytril I...
She is acting normally. She might be eating less of her layer feed than normal but I don't watch her 24/7 and I know she is excited about all the snacks I bring.
I have Baytril (antibiotic) in the fridge; it says it expired in April after I got it in February but I have not opened it and it...
